NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL. — A couple who owns the WESTHRIN HEARING AID CENTER INC in New Smyrna Beach, FL gave a woman with severe hearing loss the gift of a lifetime.
Robert Westhrin and his wife, Karen, fitted Debbie Turpin, 56, with hearing aids valued at $6,500 for free on Monday. The Westhrins said they met Turpin during a free screening. She was nearly deaf at the time. That's when they offered the widow with little income and no insurance a chance to hear again.
“(The Westhrins) are miracle workers. Nobody ever has made any offer to help me like this. I didn't know how much longer I was going to be able to go,” Turpin said.
The Westhrins said a vendor they work with, GN Resound, donated the
ultra-power hearing aids and they donated their audio expertise.
